In 2026, a professional website can cost from €1,290 for a compact landing page to €100,000 for an extensive web project. Large platforms and digital systems can exceed €1 million, depending on scope. Our small-business packages start at €1,290 and run to €7,490; we quote shops and complex systems individually. On top come running costs of roughly from €59 per month for hosting and domain combined; if you want to hand off care and security, budget €99 per month. Where exactly your project lands depends on three things: scope, features and who provides the content.
In this article we show you our real prices, explain what they are made of, and how to recognise a fair quote, whether you end up working with us or not.
What does a website cost in 2026, prices at a glance
The table below shows our published package prices. Beyond these, large-project costs depend on scope, integrations, security and operations. The higher figures are illustrative project budgets, not fixed WebDrift quotes.
| Package | Scope | One-time price | Delivery |
|---|---|---|---|
| Landing page | 1 page, responsive, SEO basics, GDPR-compliant contact form | €1,290 (launch price, normally €1,490) | 5 to 7 working days |
| Core | Business website, up to ~8 pages, CMS, SEO optimisation | €3,990 | 2 to 3 weeks |
| Growth | Website + CMS + CRM/booking, advanced SEO | €7,490 | 3 to 4 weeks |
| Online shop | products, payment, shipping, legal checkout flow | custom quote | approx. 2 to 3 months |
| Extensive web project | many page types, integrations, complex workflows | around €100,000 or more, depending on scope | custom schedule |
| Large platform / digital system | multiple user groups, high scale, many integrations | over €1 million possible, depending on scope | custom schedule |
With every package you receive full rights to code and design. That is not a given: some providers only rent out websites, if you move on, the site stays behind.
Why the range is so wide
A website is not an off-the-shelf product but a mix of strategy, copy, design and technology. The price rises mainly with:
- Number and type of pages, a service page with a pricing table takes more work than a legal notice.
- Features, appointment booking, multiple languages, member areas, integrations with CRM or inventory systems.
- Content, do you supply copy and photos yourself, or should we create them?
- Design ambition, an adapted template or a fully custom design with animations.
Which website does my business need?
The most honest answer: as much as necessary, as little as possible. Many businesses start too big and end up with twenty pages nobody maintains.
Landing page from €1,290: the fast, clean start
A landing page is a single, clearly structured page with one goal: winning enquiries. It suits founders, a single offer, or replacing an outdated business-card website. One year of hosting and two months of support are included.
Core for €3,990: for start-ups and small teams
Core is the right choice if you want to explain your offer on up to around eight pages, for example home, services, about and contact, and be found on Google for specific searches. A CMS and SEO optimisation are already included.
Growth for €7,490: for growing businesses
Growth adds a CMS your team can use to maintain content itself, plus a CRM or booking system. That pays off as soon as you regularly publish news, references or job ads, or need to manage leads and appointments. Read more about technology and process on our web design & development page.
Online shop: custom quote
A shop needs more than beautiful product pages: payment methods, shipping logic, legally compliant checkout flows, emails and often an integration with inventory or accounting. That is why we scope every professional e-commerce project individually and quote it as a custom project, typically taking around two to three months.
What running costs come on top?
The one-time price is only part of the bill. Plan for these ongoing items:
- Hosting & domain: from €59 per month combined. The first year is included in our packages.
- Care & support (optional): €99 per month, security updates, backups, performance monitoring and priority support.
- Licences: if you use paid plugins, fonts or tools. We list such costs up front.
Maintenance is not a must. A modern, lean website needs little care. But if you have no time for updates and the website is your most important sales channel, it is money well spent.
Pay once or monthly? The alternatives
Not every business wants to invest several thousand euros at once. That is why we offer two alternatives to the one-time price:
- Monthly plan (24-month term, all-inclusive): landing page from €130, business website from €290 per month, hosting and domain are then included.
- WebDrift partnership: website and growth system from one team for €399 instead of €500 per month, continuously looked after and developed. Details in the partnership section.
With the one-time price you usually pay 50% at project start and 50% on completion.
Website builder, freelancer or agency, what is cheaper?
A website builder has the lowest up-front cost. The real costs are your time and the platform's limits: speed, custom features and clean search engine optimisation are often only partly possible, and moving usually means rebuilding.
A freelancer can be a good choice when the project is clearly defined. Check who looks after the website after launch and what happens if that person is unavailable.
An agency usually costs more than a builder but delivers strategy, design, technology and support from one source. That pays off when the website is supposed to bring in measurable enquiries.
How to recognise a fair website quote
No matter whom you hire, check every quote against this checklist:
- Services are itemised (number of pages, features, number of revision rounds).
- Running costs for hosting, domain, licences and maintenance are stated.
- You receive full rights to code, design and content.
- Responsive design, loading speed and SEO basics are part of the offer, not extras.
- Data protection is considered: cookie banner, embedding of external services, contact form.
- There is a clear timeline with milestones.
- Support after launch is defined for how long and on what terms.
- You know who your contact person is.
How to save costs without sacrificing quality
- Clarify goals first: Who should visit the website and what should that person do? A clear goal prevents unnecessary pages.
- Prepare content: Good-quality copy, photos and logo save time and therefore money.
- Start small, extend deliberately: First the pages that bring enquiries, blog, multiple languages or a shop follow when they are needed.
- Check funding: Some German federal states fund digitalisation projects. Ask your chamber of commerce (IHK) or state development bank about programmes currently running.
- Clarify taxes: How your website costs are treated for tax purposes is best discussed with your tax adviser.
Conclusion: what a website should really cost
A good website is not an expense but a sales tool that works around the clock. Our standard packages for small and mid-sized businesses range from €1,290 for a landing page to €7,490 for a website with CMS and CRM/booking. Extensive web projects can cost around €100,000 or more; large platforms and systems can exceed €1 million. What matters is not the lowest price but a transparent quote that fits your goal.
