A monthly package is worth it for the self-employed if they want a website, booking enquiries and a better overview of enquiries without doing the technical work themselves and without a large upfront payment; anyone who needs only a simple business-card page or already maintains working tools does not need it. This article compares going it alone with the package using real contents and assumed figures, and says when you should stay with a do-it-yourself setup.
What is included in the three packages?
The three levels build on each other. The website is a one-page site from an industry template that we adapt to your business; it is ready in about 14 days.
| Package | Price | Includes |
|---|---|---|
| Start | €99 a month (from €3.30 a day) | One-page website from an industry template, local SEO basics and setup of the Google Business Profile, contact and booking enquiry form, hosting and ongoing care |
| Pro | €199 a month (€6.60 a day) | Everything in Start, online booking with calendar and reminders, simple customer and enquiry management, preparation for AI visibility, small changes every month, review requests |
| Complete | €299 a month (about €10 a day) | Everything in Pro, tracking of quotes and invoices, edit text and photos yourself in the CMS, WhatsApp and click-to-call, monthly report, priority support |
Important: you continue to write invoices in your own program. The package supports tracking but does not replace bookkeeping. All prices are final prices under § 19 UStG, without VAT, with a 24-month term. Placement on Google or in AI answers cannot be guaranteed.
What does doing it yourself really cost?
You can also build website, booking and invoicing yourself with separate tools. Fees are often in the low to mid two-digit euro range a month, depending on the provider. On top comes your time. The following calculation rests on assumed figures; put in your own.
| Item (assumption) | Calculation | Result over 24 months |
|---|---|---|
| Tools, €30 a month | €30 × 24 | €720 |
| Setup, 8 hours at €40 | 8 × €40 | €320 |
| Upkeep, 1.5 hours a month at €40 | 1.5 × €40 × 24 | €1,440 |
| Do-it-yourself total | about €2,480 | |
| For comparison: Start / Pro / Complete | €99 / €199 / €299 × 24 | €2,376 / €4,776 / €7,176 |
Purely on paper, doing it yourself can therefore be cheaper, especially compared with Pro and Complete, if you bring time and skill and do not need all the features. The price gap shrinks as soon as your hour is worth more or setup and upkeep take longer. The package also relieves you of the question of who does updates, backups and changes.
When is the package not worth it?
Stay with your own tools if your website hardly changes and needs no booking, if you already have a working setup that someone maintains reliably or if you need specialist software, such as full bookkeeping. If you need more than a one-page website, for example several pages, a shop or custom features, other offers fit better: our websites start at €1,290 one-off, and there are notes on cost in What does a professional website cost in 2026?. Also think about the 24-month term: you should be comfortable with it.
How do you decide?
First estimate how many hours a month you spend today on website, appointments and overview, and what that time is worth. Then check which level covers your needs: contact only (Start), appointments and reminders (Pro) or tracking as well (Complete). Which building blocks belong on a trades website is described in Website for tradespeople.
- Hours per month for website, appointments and overview estimated
- Value of an hour set
- Needed features named: form, online booking, tracking
- Do-it-yourself calculated: tools, setup, upkeep
- 24-month term and option to switch checked
- Open questions clarified in a first conversation
Conclusion: include your own time in the sum
Whether package or do-it-yourself is cheaper depends on the value of your hour and on your needs. If you want to hand off the technology and have a fixed contact person, the package is a simple route; if you like building things yourself, separate tools take you a long way.
